Reach the Indian farmer

Introduction

Farmers and soldiers are the lifelines of our great country India. It is the duty of every Indian to take care of them and do our bit for them. Digital transformations of the rural sector cannot take place only with the government's efforts.Every citizen has to contribute towards these efforts. Today IOT sensors are being distributed in the soil along with the seeds in order to study the soil conditions and most of the farmers in the country do not know about how to leverage latest technology. The society must think about how to increase the productivity and profitability of the farmers. The small farmer must have a way to sell the crops he grows to various types of customers instead of depending only on the middlemen who may not pay him the right price. Also electric vehicles and charging points must be encouraged in every taluk. Engineering college students must be encouraged to research in new forms of energy generation such as wind and solar energy in order to come up with new electric equipments and vehicles that can make the work of our farmers easier.Farmers can also build their own network of people through this portal and may take up gardening related jobs in houses especially in big towns and cities. There is a lot of demand for good and efficient gardeners in our country.

farmerreach.com - Farmers' Customer Relationship Management(CRM) tool

This portal is a Customer Relationship Management(CRM) tool for the Indian farmer. In India, approximately, there are 12000 retail outlets per 10 lakh people or 0.15 million (1 million = 10 lakh) retail outlets. It would now be easier for the farmers to classify their markets instead of depending on the brokers and middlemen who don't pay more than the cost spent by the farmer.
With a large number of buyers registered to buy, the farmers must now be enlightened about how to classify the markets they must target. The farmers now can focus on the markets for various products based on,
Product quantity vs Growth,
Product quantity vs Profitability,
Product potential vs Cost to serve.
Avoid markets where there is low growth and small size. Let there be selective focus on markets where products are bought in large quantity and have low growth and on markets where products are bought in smaller quantity, but having high growth. There must be extensive focus on markets where there is high growth and larger quantity of products are bought. The farmers come to know where actually are their markets.
In the next stage of the product, the portal leverages data analytics to provide information such as the farmer's target customer, the customers' shopping habits for farmer's product and their competition at the retail outlet. We find the distribution footprint of the farms leveraging retail census and benchmarking using the data in our portal. Leveraging all this the farmers come to know their retailers who dominate, who sustain business, with whom they must build their business and those retailers that the farmers must avoid based on % of target group and % product quantity. The farmers can completely avoid middlemen. Therefore can decide their margins and inventory management and have a higher Return on Investment(ROI). The farmers must calculate their gross margin for their stock keeping unit as follows,

Gross ROI = Net Margin % x 365/ Sales Cycle , where sales cycle is in number of days.
You can come to know about how each product is distributed in outlets where many of your products are stocked. Also we can let you know about how much of these products are sold to buyers registered in the portal leveraging data analytics. The farmer can access retailers, households and hotels anywhere in the world in addition to the local middlemen and village retailers. The farmer can therefore maintain data regarding the customers and sales and plan logistics he leverages to transport the goods. The farmers can now calculate the value of their customer base applying the Pareto principle, ie., 80% of the sales come from 20% of the customers. The time has now come for information technology to completely replace the channel of distributors and warehouses. The agriculture supply chain now becomes farmer -> logistics -> retailers/endusers.

Transaction fees for Sellers.

Important : If online sales are done through the portal, the seller is charged about 0.05% of sale value per transaction. The seller is not charged for offline sales. We do not charge the buyers.

Next Stage of farmerreach.com

IOT manufacturers must provide sensors to monitor sacks of farm products from the farm until it reaches the end-user. The farmers must learn how to leverage IOT devices and collect data of their farm lands. In the next stage of this portal, farmers would be able to feed in the data obtained from IOT sensors and obtain data visualisations and get farming rules to be implemented in farming in order to increase their productivity and profitability leveraging data analytics. This feature would be available to the farmers by October 2018. The payment gateway services for each seller would be provided in future.
